Columbia County Solid Waste division provides a variety of free programs and resources for residents, businesses and schools to participate in proper waste management. The division highest priority is waste reduction, minimizes the need to consume more items, by reusing, repairing, recycling items and donating items to give them a second life. Once materials end up in the landfill, they are compacted by machinery, which creates a lot of greenhouse gases contributing to harmful effects on our planet, wildlife and human health.
