The solid waste division provides a variety of free programs and resources for residents, businesses and schools to participate in proper waste management. The division's highest priority is waste reduction, minimizes the need to consume more items by reusing, repairing, donating and recycling items. The last resort is the landfill, when materials end up in the landfill, they are compacted by machinery, creating lots of greenhouse gases contributing to harmful effects on our planet, wildlife and human health.
