Paint

Paint is a common item in many households and businesses. Buy only the paint you need, use it up and then recycle the rest at free drop-off locations or at household hazardous waste events. If the paint is dried to the paint bucket, dispose of it as trash.

Accepted items:
- Interior and exterior architectural paints: latex, acrylic, water-based, alkyd, oil-based, enamal (including textured coatings)
- Deck coatings, floor paints (including elastomeric)
- Field and lawn paints
- Metal coatings, rust preventatives
- Primers, sealers, undercoaters
- Shellacs, lacquers, varnishes, urethanes (single component)
- Stains
- Waterproofing concrete/masonry/wood sealers and repellents (not tar or bitumen-based)
- latex and oil-based house paint, stains and varnish in containers up to 5 gallons in size. This site does not accept
Unaccepted items:
- Aerosols (spray paint or other spray products)
- Art and craft paints
- Auto and marine paints
- Caulking compounds, epoxies, glues, adhesives
- Containers without original labels, or containers that are leaking or empty.
- Deck cleaners
- Industrial maintenance (IM) coatings
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) (shop application) paints and finishes
- Paint additives, colorants, tints, resins
- Paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents
- Roof patch and repair
- 2-component coatings
- Traffic and road marking paints
- Wood preservatives (containing pesticides)
