Joshua Pond was appointed to the Columbia County District Attorney position in 2023 and sworn in on November 14th, 2023.

Within the office, he is committed to data-driven prosecution policies, responding to community concerns, and giving a meaningful voice to crime victims. Joshua Pond was born and raised in Port Arthur, TX. His family immigrated from Scotland, settling in what is now the San Antonio and Austin area before the United States, Mexico or Texas even existed.  After completing seminary and pursuing an initial career in Religious Studies at Marquette University, Mr. Pond transitioned to law to have a more direct impact on his community. Outside of law, Joshua Pond and his wife have four children and he spends his free time devoted to them and to a love of social justice and nature.
