Parking Citations

Most parking citations are written to the registered owner of the vehicle. If you receive a citation for a vehicle that you have sold, you must submit proof from the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles that the transaction was flagged in its system before the date of occurrence on the citation.

Court policy regarding Sauvie Island parking citations

Please refer to your parking citation for the following information.  When choosing either option #1 or option #2 on your citation and providing proof of an ODFW Wildlife Area Parking Permit (even if purchased after the citation was issued) is provided in person, on or before your court appearance date and time, the citation will be dismissed with a $50 court cost.

If this is completed by mail prior to your court date, the citation will be dismissed with a $50 court cost. You must mail your summons, a copy of your ODFW Wildlife Area Parking Permit, and a check or money order made payable to:

Columbia County Justice Court
P. O. Box 128
Vernonia, OR 97064

The Court does not take payments by telephone. Instructions for online payments can be found on our Payment Information page.

When choosing option #3 and entering a plea of not guilty either in person on your court date, or by mail prior to your court date, a trial date will be scheduled and mailed to you. The Court will subpoena the citing officer and you must appear for trial on the scheduled trial date.
