How do I get help with my online application?

When I apply for a County job, can I just submit a resume instead of a job application?

A resume only cannot be accepted in place of a completed job application. Do not state "see resume" in any section of the application. Be sure to carefully review the job announcement for required documentation. Depending on the position, a resume and/or cover letter may also be required. If your application packet does not included all requested materials, it will be incomplete and will not be considered in the recruitment process.

How do I know the County has successfully received my online application?

HR Jobs will send you a notification email noting that your application has been successfully received.

Do I need to submit a separate application for each position I am interested in?

Yes. A separate application is required for each position open for recruitment.

How often are jobs posted?

Jobs may be posted at any time. Check our listings daily for new postings. You can also connect with the County on Facebook to see when a new posting has been added to our website.

What if the job I want is not currently open?

We accept applications only for positions that are currently open for recruitment.

What materials do I need to submit to apply for a current job opening?

In addition to the application, you may be asked to submit a resume, cover letter, answers to supplemental questions or other materials. Please review the job announcement carefully for instructions. When submitting your application, please note that any applications received after the deadline will not be accepted. Applications will only be accepted through HR.Jobs@columbiacountyor.gov. Any other form of submittal will not be accepted.

Seasonal Work
Can I apply for seasonal work?

We hire seasonal workers through Cardinal Services for both the Roads Department and Parks Department.

Volunteering
Can I volunteer with the County?

Yes.  We are always accepting applications from volunteers interested in spending their time and talent supporting the functions of the County departments.  Submit your application today!
