The Caples House Museum, located in the historic home of the Caples Family in Columbia City, Oregon, displays the history of the family as well as the Knapp Center & Children's Museum. We serve tea and sweets every Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. fro $5 per person. Our facilities are also open for weddings, retreats, conferences or parties in this private and historic setting overlooking the magnificent and mighty river!
The Historic Courthouse Museum's displays highlight shipping, railroads, farming, schools, the military, natural history, towns, industry, logging, government, business and general interest. One room is a research library with a wide variety of materials devoted to genealogy and Columbia County.
The Rainier Oregon Historical Museum is dedicated to collecting, archiving and sharing with the community our long, rich history. Please join us if you have a passion for preserving Rainier's past and the memory of those who came before us. The Scappoose Historical Society makes its home in the 1902 Victorian Watts House, the home of James Grant Watts who was one of the city's founding fathers. This house also serves as the Watts House Pioneer Museum. The Society's mission is to preserve the past, but we also look forward to the future. Visit us and learn about our Scappoose history and learn about the varied events that take place throughout the year.
The Vernonia museum is stuffed with logging memorabilia, household artifacts, photos, mounted wildlife, local families and a fascinating assortment of items in every room, with an emphasis on the Vernonia area.
